JOB PURPOSE

As the Job and Partnership Developer, you will lead employer engagement and job placement efforts for Ve’ahavta’s employment programming. You will support program participants to secure meaningful employment aligned with their skills, interests, and long-term stability goals, while building strong partnerships with employers across sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Employer Engagement & Job Development

  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify job opportunities, work placements, and hiring pipelines
  • Conduct labour market research to inform job matching and employer outreach strategies
  • Promote the value of inclusive hiring and support employers to implement supportive workplace practices
  • Coordinate job fairs, hiring events, employer presentations, and networking opportunities
  • Negotiate placement opportunities including wage subsidies, job trials, and customized roles where appropriate

Participant Placement & Retention

  • Collaborate with the Career Counsellor and program team to match participants to suitable employment opportunities
  • Prepare participants for interviews, workplace expectations, and onboarding
  • Provide post-placement follow-up and retention support to participants and employers
  • Identify barriers to employment and coordinate solutions with internal and external supports

Program Documentation & Outcomes (Employment Ontario aligned)

  • Maintain accurate case notes, employer records, placement documentation, and outcome tracking
  • Monitor placement targets, retention outcomes, and employer satisfaction
  • Identify service gaps and contribute to continuous program improvement
  • Support reporting requirements and evaluation processes

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2–3 years’ minimum experience in job development, employer engagement, employment services, or partnership development (Employment Ontario experience considered an asset)
  • Diploma or degree in Social Services, Business, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of barriers to employment and labour market dynamics
  • Experience supporting marginalized or equity-deserving populations
  • Client-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach
  • Demonstrated ability to build employer relationships and achieve placement outcomes
  • Strong documentation, organization, and data tracking skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to turn ideas into measurable results
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening.

Annual Salary: $55,000- $60,000
