
Position: Event Coordinator (Canada Summer Student Position)

Duration: 8 weeks
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: $19.50 CAD/hour
Report to: Manager of Events & Administration and Vice President
Location: North York, in office 5 days a week. Some weekend availability required, hours will be adjusted to accommodate.

Job Description:
Are you an organized and energetic student with a passion for events and community engagement? Are you interested in making a positive impact? Join our team at Ben-Gurion University Canada as an Event Coordinator this summer! This role offers hands-on experience in planning and executing impactful events, from fundraisers to community programs, while developing valuable skills in logistics, coordination, and teamwork.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the coordination and execution of events, including fundraisers, galas, and community programs
- Support event logistics, communicating with vendors
- Help manage event timelines, budgets, and checklists to ensure smooth operations
- Coordinate event materials, signage, and promotional items
- Provide on-site support during events, including setup, registration, guest assistance and tear down
- Assist with post-event reporting and evaluation to improve future events
- Collaborate with marketing and fundraising teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a program related to event management, communications, marketing, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt quickly during live events
- Experience with Microsoft Office; familiarity with event management tools is an asset
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends for events
- Previous experience in event planning or coordination is an asset
