About the Opportunity

The Office of the President & CEO plays a central leadership role in UJA’s mission. Reporting to UJA’s Vice President, Communications & Marketing, we’re seeking a Senior Writer, Leadership Communications to serve in a pivotal position supporting the leadership writing needs of UJA.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop internal communications from UJA’s leadership to update and support UJA’s professional staff
  • Write correspondence, speaking notes, and other communications products that enable UJA’s leadership to engage key stakeholders, with the goal of advancing the organization’s development, stewardship, and community outreach efforts
  • Supports colleagues with writing, proofreading, and other collaborative tasks, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in communications, English, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in communications and/or writing
  • Ability to work off-hours on an occasional basis, including evenings or weekends
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Excellent writing skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to quickly build rapport with colleagues
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Commitment to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with the Toronto Jewish community and/or experience in Jewish communal service is considered an asset

* This is a full-time permanent position (34 hours per week) Union Level G. The successful candidate will have the option to work remotely provided s/he is available to meet in person at our offices, on an ‘as needed’ basis. Please note that UJA’s offices are closed on all Jewish holy days (yom tov) and the Jewish Sabbath (Shabbat).
