JCC Children & Family Programs: Magic Instructor

 

Job Type: Part-Time Position

Wage: $30-$40 hourly

Location: Prosserman JCC 4588 Bathurst Street, North York ON (Bathurst/Sheppard Area) and/or Schwartz/Reisman Centre (Bathurst/Rutherford Area)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and patient Magic Instructor to teach fun, age-appropriate magic classes to children ages 5 and up. Our ideal candidate enjoys working with kids, has a background in magic, and can create an engaging, positive learning environment where children feel confident, curious, and excited to learn.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach simple and age-appropriate magic tricks and techniques
  • Engage children through interactive lessons, games, and demonstrations
  • Adapt teaching style to different age groups and skill levels
  • Encourage creativity, confidence, and good sportsmanship
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and fun classroom environment
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials as needed
  • Communicate clearly and positively with children and parents

What Do You Bring?

  • Experience working with children
  • Basic background in magic (hobbyist, performer, magician-in-training, or similar)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Patience, reliability, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to explain concepts in a simple, engaging way
