In honour of Raoul Wallenberg Day 2023, join the Holocaust Education Centre for a film screening of Valiant Hearts (Coeurs vaillants), a gripping story of survival and rescue from Nazi-occupied France. The film will be introduced with remarks on the significance of Raoul Wallenberg and his heroic actions.
In August 1942, six Jewish children are hidden by the resistance in the magnificent Loire Valley, Château de Chambord, along with priceless artworks from the Louvre Museum. They are helped by Rose, an art conservator and member of the resistance, documenting the theft of artworks by Nazi officers. The children endure tumultuous circumstances, while learning about independence, friendship, and compassion. Valiant Hearts is a compelling true story with an important message of bravery and friendship that rings true for our time (2021, French with English subtitles, 87 minutes).
