What to Expect
On Friday, April 5, you’re invited to a new kind of Shabbat experience hosted by OneTable at Third Place.
We’re celebrating our recent launch of OneTable Toronto (OneTable’s first-ever Canadian hub!) and are so excited to expand our presence in Toronto together. Help us usher in Shabbat Ha’Malka (the Shabbat queen) with OneTable’s very own Queen of the [Friday] Night, drag performer Josie!
Join us as we unwind, connect, and nosh over delectable bites, classic cocktails, and guided ritual to welcome Shabbat. Look forward to mingling and moving around the beautiful space (it won’t be your bubbe’s sit-down dinner)!
This gathering is for you, whether you are a seasoned OneTable host or have never heard of OneTable; whether you grew up celebrating Shabbat every week, or this will be your first Shabbat experience (or anything in between). As long as you love good food, good people, and good vibes— you are in the right place.
Your ticket includes:
- Dinner, a delightful medley of Vietnamese-inspired vegetarian apps courtesy of - Chef David Huynh (Vit Beo, Civil Liberties)
- Two drink credits (cash bar also available)
- Facilitated Shabbat blessings with a little help from our resident Yiddishe drag queen
- And a whole lot of challah from Toronto’s iconic Harbord Bakery!
Some notes on accessibility:
- The menu is fully vegetarian, nut-free, and kosher-style, but it is not certified kosher. If you require kosher food offerings, please let us know on your registration form so we can accommodate you.
- Third Place is located on the second level of 875 Bloor St W (above the Canada Post, just west of Ossington subway station). It is not wheelchair accessible, as guests will need to walk up ~18 stairs.
- Your $36 ticket helps to cover the cost of food, drink, and professional staff, but at OneTable, we firmly believe that cost should never be a barrier to entry. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to simon@onetable.org - we are happy to discount/waive the price as needed. We want you here!
