It’s Pooorhyme time and everythin’s agone sideways pardner! The East End’s goin’ west… wild west! Dust off your cowboy boots and get ready to swing your pardner round n’ round. Ain’t nobody seen a showdown like this since Mordechai and Haman thought Shushan weren’t big enough for the both of ‘em. Purim at DJC’s gonna be a country shindig for all ages. With food, music, line-dancing and a wacky recounting of the megillah, ya’ll done wanna miss it, hear me? Come in costume or we’ll run ya right outta town. The sheriff’s got prizes if your costume’s appealin’ and once the youngin’s get tuckered out, the older folk gonna keep the party goin’ with country karaoke. Yeehaw!

PURIM PARTY SCHEDULE – come for all or part of the festivities!

4:15 – 5:15 PM Purim-themed programming for kids in the Jewish Studies program. Parents welcome to join at 5:30 PM or meet your kids at the community party by 6:15 PM

5:30 – 6 PM Western hoedown begins with dinner and music. Servin’ up veggie chili,
cornbread, quesadilla’s, salads and…. hamentashen! (while quantities last)

Visit the Bandana Bedazzling station to amp up your country chic!
All supplies will be provided

6ish Wacky, fun telling of the megillah story, singing and all-ages costume contest with **prizes**

7 PM Good ole family barn dance lead by an experienced caller & Superfly
Entertainment

8 PM As we start to say sweet dreams to the youngins’, the music gets cranked up and the Purim punch gets spiked! You’ll wanna wet your whistle for Country Karaoke!!

COUNTRY COSTUME CONTEST
There’ll be prizes for the most creative, kooky, or Canadiana of cowboys. Kosher cowboy? Rhinestone cowboy? Come as a duo with a buddy or in a group costume. Dream big! Be clever (and culturally sensitive) when planning your costumes. Please, no “Indians” at this tongue-and-cheek celebration of the old west.
