A Temple Sinai Program — Israeli Culture Through the Arts

In addition to being the Jewish State, Israel has also produced a lively culture of its own. Yossi Klein-Halevy has said, “To understand Israel, you have to listen to its soundtrack.” We shall listen to some contemporary Israeli singers and songwriters and read some fascinating Israeli poetry and literature. English translation will be provided. This will give us a window into Israeli cultural life and will draw us even closer to Israel’s land and people! As a special “bonus,” Rabbi Benjie Gruber, a Reform Rabbi from Israel, will join Rabbi Lawrence Englander. This course will be of special interest to those who wish to join the ARZA Canada trip in May 2017, “Israel Through the Arts,” Time: 7:00 p.m. Cost: Members: Free; Non-members: $5 per session. To register, please call the Temple Office at 416-487-4161 or e-mail programs@templesinai.net. 210 Wilson Avenue.
