For the sake of clarity, we hereby confirm that tickets (including wristbands) are a revocable license to attend the premises of the Sherman Campus for the Sounds of Israel concert.
As the safety and security of all attendees at the Sounds of Israel concert is our paramount concern, UJA reserves the right to revoke the license of any attendee in its sole discretion if the presence of the attendee, or their conduct or intended conduct, may lead, directly or indirectly, to a potential safety concern, may interfere with the experience of the other attendees of the Sounds of Israel concert, may detract or distract from or undermine the purpose of the Sounds of Israel concert, or may lead to a breach of the peace.
The attendee's presentation of their ticket at entry to the event constitutes a representation to UJA that the attendee has read, and confirms that they will comply with, the Code of Conduct, and accepts that their ticket, and their license to enter or remain on the Sherman Campus, may be revoked at any time in the sole discretion of UJA.
CODE OF CONDUCT
United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto (“UJA”) is dedicated to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience at the Sounds of Israel concert held on August 7, 2025, at the Sherman Campus at 4588 and 4600 Bathurst Street, Toronto (the “Event”).
UJA is committed to fostering an inclusive environment free from harassment. UJA strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy towards acts of intolerance, racism, and unsafe, abusive, unlawful, inciteful, or offensive conduct will not be tolerated at the Event. This Code of Conduct is designed to uphold these values, addressing any behaviour that is inconsistent with this goal and detracts from the Event’s purpose of peaceful solidarity with the people of Israel, the overall experience of the Event attendees, and the safety of the Event.
The following conduct is prohibited at the Event:
- Behaviour that is unruly, disruptive, threatening, or violent in nature, including verbal or physical harassment of attendees, volunteers, or staff, or any act which, in the opinion of Event staff, poses a safety risk or detracts from the peaceful experience of the Event or which is otherwise unlawful.
- Using language or making gestures that are threatening, inciteful, abusive, or discriminatory, including on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, ability, gender, gender identity, and/or sexual orientation.
- Possession of any of the Prohibited Items (defined below).
- Conduct that could result in injury to persons or damage to private property, whether owned by UJA or otherwise, or other personal property of UJA or attendees at the Event.
- Engaging in commercial activity or displaying signs, symbols, images, or messaging for commercial purposes without permission from UJA.
- Throwing objects of any kind.
- Entering unauthorized areas.
- Failing to follow requests from Event staff regarding Event operations, policies, and emergency response procedures.
- Failing to leave the Event when directed to do so by Event staff.
- Consumption of alcohol, cannabis, or any other intoxicating or illegal substances, and smoking of any kind (including any tobacco or cannabis products or byproducts, as well as e-cigarettes, vaporizers).
Compliance with Policy
Any failure to abide by this Code of Conduct may result in sanctions at the discretion of UJA, which may include removal, arrest, prosecution, and expulsion from the Event and any or all UJA facilities whether or not a warning is issued.
Attendees who are removed from the Event will have their ticket revoked and may receive a refund at the sole discretion of UJA.
UJA thanks you for adhering to this Code of Conduct and for making the Event special and memorable for you and your fellow attendees.
Prohibited Items
UJA reserves the right to prohibit the entry of any attendee in possession of any items which may, in UJA’s opinion, interfere with the ability of other attendees to enjoy the Event, including but not limited to, the following:
- Any bags larger than 12" x 6" x 12"
- Weapons of any kind including, but not limited to, knives, pepper spray, stun guns, concealed weapons, and firearms
- Fireworks of any kind including, but not limited to, flares, smoke bombs, incendiary devices, missile, and pyrotechnics
- Illegal drugs or harmful chemicals
- Alcohol or cannabis
- Aerosol cans, pressurized containers, and paint cans
- Noisemakers, including, but not limited to, whistles and horns
- Powered amplification systems, including megaphones, except as permitted by UJA
- Powered inverter and gas-powered generators, except as permitted by UJA
- Professional camera equipment, including, but not limited to, tripods, battery packs, and large commercial video cameras, except as permitted by UJA
- Laser pointers
- Glass containers
- Remote controlled aircraft or unmanned aircraft systems (drones)
- Hoverboards and skateboards
- Selfie sticks
- Beach balls or other inflatable items
- Hand sanitizer over 100ml
- Glue
- Animals (excluding certified service animals with proper documentation as permitted by UJA)
- Chairs, tents, sleeping bags, tarps, or other camping equipment
- Signs, symbols, images, flags, clothing, banners which may, in UJA’s sole discretion be considered vulgar, discriminatory, or disrespectful or which may in UJA’s sole discretion interfere with the purpose of the Event, are likely to create tension among attendees, or which may cause safety concerns on the part of attendees
- Any other items deemed to be suspicious, inappropriate, and/or dangerous by Event staff in UJA’s sole discretion
