It just got easier for Jewish families to provide their children with a world-class, Jewish high school education in Toronto.
In front of 321 graduates and thousands of celebrants at Wednesday’s TanenbaumCHAT graduation, Kaelen Sherman announced the Honey and Barry Sherman Jewish Education Fund. “My parents believed deeply in the power of education. They believed that education creates opportunity, builds confidence, strengthens communities, and changes lives,” Kaelen said. This transformational $25 million donation was established in honour of her parents’ extraordinary legacy and will help sustain tuition assistance at TanenbaumCHAT in perpetuity.
“By opening more doors to Jewish learning, this investment will help strengthen this essential foundation of our community,” said UJA's President and CEO Adam Minsky. “It will empower more students to build strong Jewish identities, deepen their connection to community, and become the next generation of leaders who will shape Jewish Toronto for years to come.”
