‘Everybody Loved Him’: Michael Mizrahi Remembered as Generous Man

Montreal’s Jewish community is mourning the loss of Michael Mizrahi, 68, after he was shot in the city’s Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood on Monday. Rabbi Mendel Raskin of Beth Chabad in Côte-St-Luc, who knew Michael for more than 30 years, described him as a generous and beloved member of the community. “Everybody loved him,” Raskin told The Gazette, adding that he will miss Michael's smile. Michael was killed in a series of events that also claimed the life of police Constable Mohamed Lamine Benredouane and the suspected shooter, while a second officer was injured. Police have not yet released further details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
