The Jewish community is the most frequently targeted religious minority in Toronto.

Jews make up just 3.8% of the population in Toronto

Yet in 2018, they were the target of more than 42% of all reported hate crimes

This is an alarming pattern of hate that has not changed in more than a decade.*

Your generous contribution to our annual campaign helps UJA address key challenges in our community, Israel, and across the Jewish world.

UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, together with our advocacy partner CIJA (The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs), supports a robust Community Security Program based on:

  • Building and strengthening relationships between the Jewish community and police, elected officials and emergency responders to foster awareness of our concerns.
  • Ensuring these groups understand the unique needs of the Jewish community and are familiar with key staff and locations of community sites like synagogues, schools and JCCs.
  • Providing training, guidance, and incident support to increase community preparedness and resilience.
