Prosserman JCC Announces New City-Wide Sports Initiative

A partnership between Chai Life Sports and UJA’s Prosserman JCC, the new initiative will be open to all members of the community, who are sports participants, crossing geographic, religious and cultural boundaries.

The leagues will welcome those from all backgrounds of the Jewish community and will observe Jewish tradition, including kashrut and Shabbat observance.

Alex Voihanski, Managing Director of JCC Chai sports, has spent his career in both professional and amateur sports management. “I have experienced first hand the way in which participation in sports nurtures the self confidence and identity of both children and adults in our community. I am thrilled that Toronto, with its vibrant and diverse Jewish community is finally getting a city wide Jewish sports program,” he said.

Bryan Keshen, Executive Director of the Prosserman JCC and Schwartz / Reisman Centre said “This is an extraordinary exciting time for the Prosserman JCC. With the opening of our new facility at Sherman Campus and dynamic new programming, these new sports leagues will certainly fulfill our vision of healthy living and offer exciting opportunities to engage in Jewish life”.
