This Sunday a 'Hachnasat Torah' event in Toronto's tiny Jewish-Indian Community.

Celebration and Seudah, 17 September 2017 3 PM

The Westmount Shul in conjunction with the Indian Sfardi community will be celebrating a Hachnosat Sefer Torah at our Thornhill Shul.
On Sunday Sept. 17 @ 3:00 pm followed by a Seudat Mitzvah dinner. 10 Disera Drive, New Unit on the Second Floor.

A Torah Inauguration is a wedding like celebration with the excitement of witnessing the finishing strokes of an expert hand-written Torah scroll.

A rare opportunity to experience a ’Hachnasat Torah’ event. Witness the completion of a hand written Torah scroll, the celebration of welcoming it to it’s new home and meet some of warm families of the new Indian-Jewish community in Thornill. Kosher Indian foods are a thing to experience too.

The celebration will coincide with the opening of a 2,000 sq. ft. extension to the Thornhill Jewish community of Westmount. The entire community is invited to attend this historic celebration.
