A great focus of UJA Federation’s partnership with Israel, especially over the past decade, has been strengthening our vision of building a lasting two-way relationship between the Jewish community in Toronto and the people of Israel. UJA Federation, through programs like UJA’s ShinShinim, Shevet and Diller Teens, is creating opportunities for people in both communities to connect in deep and meaningful ways. UJA’s ShinShinim, young Israeli emissaries, help to bring contemporary Israel into our schools, camps, synagogues and the broader Jewish community, while the Shevet program, comprised of ShinShinim alumni, work in Israel to carry the Diaspora message back home. UJA Federation understands that a strong Jewish future means a robust, healthy two-way relationship between the Diaspora and Israel, and that’s where the work of UJA Federation’s Israel Engagement comes in.
