More than 60 educators from public and private schools gathered at the Mental Health Symposium for Educators, presented by UJA Israel Engagement, UJA’s Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Education, and Mental Health Empowerment Day.
Participants heard from Leanne Matlow and Dr Barry Simon, who explored the stress and trauma that can result from experiencing antisemitism in the public school system. They provided helpful tools and tricks to cope with difficult situations and conversations.
The day included a session with psychotherapist Michelle Factor, as well as a mindfulness session with TDSB educator and yogi Michele Breslin.
