Important Study on Jewish Poverty

The UJA Federation of Greater Toronto is conducting an important study this summer on poverty in the Jewish community of the GTA. We know from the 2011 National Household Survey that poverty is increasing in the Jewish community and addressing this challenge is a priority issue at UJA. The objective of the study is to paint a picture of the impact of poverty on Jewish lives to raise awareness of this problem in our community.

Over the summer several Jews who have significant financial challenges are being interviewed by a research team lead by Professor Randal Schnoor of York University.

Another important part of this study is an online survey for those Jews who are experiencing financial challenges.
