Tens of thousands of Jews around the world go to bed hungry every night. And tens of thousands of Jewish families struggle to make ends meet and secure a future for their children. UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, through the funding of its partner agency, the American Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), brings life-saving relief to Jews living in dire conditions in places where nearly no other social services exist.
Since the conflict in the Ukraine broke out, tens of thousands of Jewish families have been living under incredible financial strain. Many seniors, often homebound in dilapidated apartments, require extensive medical care and help purchasing food, utilities, and other basic needs. In these coldest winter months, families lack firewood, charcoal, warm blankets, winter boots, and emergency provisions.
Thanks in part to the incredible generosity of donors in our community, when Jews around the world are in need, JDC is there to answer the call.
