On Wednesday, April 29, UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) partnered with MAAZ (Movement Against Antizionism) to convene nearly 100 sector leaders for an intensive Antizionism Training workshop. Participants included influential academics, educators, and labour leaders—both Jewish and allies.
The program featured three expert facilitators and a keynote address from writer, anthropologist, and founder of the Movement Against Antizionism Adam Louis-Klein. Together, they guided attendees through a comprehensive exploration of key issues, including the three core libels driving the antizionist movement, the broader sources of antizionism, and practical strategies to recognize and effectively counter it.
Beyond the event itself, the impact of this training is expected to extend far beyond the room. By equipping leaders embedded within major educational and labour institutions, the knowledge and tools shared will flow outward—reaching thousands of students, educators, and workers across the province.
This initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of UJA and CIJA to expand training opportunities, focus on strategic outcomes, strengthen community resilience, and ensure that those in positions of influence are prepared to respond thoughtfully and effectively to the challenges posed by contemporary forms of Jew hatred.
