David and Angela Feldman make outstanding gift to UJA's Capital Campaign

UJA Federation of Greater Toronto’s Tomorrow Campaign is pleased to announce the outstanding gift of $2 million from philanthropists, David and Angela Feldman.  The generous gift made by the Feldmans will be directed towards Sherman Campus Phase 2; an unprecedented capital initiative of the Tomorrow Campaign which will transform Sherman Campus – located on Bathurst Street north of Sheppard Avenue - as a central hub for the community to participate in social, recreational and educational opportunities.

“When I moved to Toronto in my twenties it was the Jewish “Y” that welcomed me and made me feel part of the community” said David Feldman. “I feel that it is important for this new JCC to be there, to welcome others as I had been welcomed.”

“We are proud to support a project of this magnitude; we believe that if you can, it’s important to give back,” said Angela.

Sherman Campus Phase 2 will encompass a complete transformation of the grounds to consist of a brand new 90,000 sq. ft. building for the Prosserman JCC; complete with an indoor and outdoor aquatic centre, fitness and sports facilities, outdoor nature & fitness trails and arts & culture spaces.  The entire project will be developed with an eco-friendly approach and will consist of many “green” initiatives.

“We are so excited to have David and Angela – each of whom are accomplished and respected developers in their own right - show their support and have them as partners in this campaign to develop a vibrant centre that serves our growing and diverse community” said Fred Waks, Chair of the Sherman Campus Campaign.
