1 Open Door provides variety of social services in one convenient location

Larry Robbins is one of the major developers in the City of Toronto.  A principle of Great Gulf Homes, Larry is responsible for the development of Erin Mills in Mississauga, including industrial, commercial and residential projects.  His commitment as a leader to the Jewish Toronto community is reflected in his gift to Jewish Education, naming the Miriam & Larry Robbins Hebrew Academy (formerly USDS), the Chabad of Mississauga educational program, and now York Region’s Jewish Community through the Miriam & Larry Robbins gift to 1 Open Door located on the second floor of the Community Services Pavilion on the Joseph & Wolf Lebovic Jewish Community Campus, an initiative of UJA Federation’s Tomorrow Campaign, which continues to transform the GTA’s Jewish skyline.

Since York Region is one of the fastest-growing Jewish communities in Canada, Jewish social service agencies have also been growing to meet the increased demands of the community.  At the Miriam & Larry Robbins 1 Open Door, a number of UJA Federation’s partner agencies are working together to address the social, education, vocational, settlement, mental health, home care, safety and emotional needs of the community in one shared space.  JIAS (Jewish Immigrant Aid Service) Toronto, JVS Toronto, Circle of Care and Jewish Family & Child (JF&CS) are now together in one location to assist you, your family and our community.
