Miki Nachmani is Vice President, Business Development & Associate Portfolio Manager at Baskin Wealth Management. Miki works closely with high-net worth clients, helping them achieve their financial goals and grow their wealth. Miki has over 25 years of experience in wealth management and financial services, and prior to joining Baskin Wealth Management she held senior management positions at Bank Hapoalim in Israel, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Most recently she served as Chief Representative of Bank Hapoalim in Toronto and led the bank’s Canadian market presence for high-net worth clients. Miki holds a BA from Tel Aviv University and an MBA from Heriot Watt Edinburgh Business School in the United Kingdom. Miki and her family live in Toronto and are actively engaged in Israeli and Jewish community cultural and charity events.
Marni Pernica is a Partner at Aird & Berlis LLP and a member of the firm’s Tax Group, Estates & Trusts Group and Estates & Succession Planning Group. Her practice focuses on estate, income tax and succession planning, including cross-border planning, planning to reduce estate administration tax (formerly known as probate fees), the preparation of wills, powers of attorney and trusts, and assisting with estate administration. Additionally, Marni advises clients on how to reduce personal and corporate tax, including the effective use of a family trust. Marni is a member of the OBA Trusts and Estates Section Executive, the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
Marni has been an active participant at UJA and the Jewish Foundation, sitting on the Professional Advisory Committee at the Jewish Foundation for the last few years.
Alexandra (Ali) Spinner is a partner in the firm’s Tax Group and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Ali is involved in all aspects of the firm’s domestic and international tax practices. She is also experienced in estate and trust planning, corporate reorganizations and voluntary disclosure applications. Ali specializes in complex tax matters relating to business acquisitions and divestitures, estate freezes, post-mortem tax planning, tax due diligence, and corporate and estate tax returns.
With 19 years of experience in public accounting and tax, Ali provides invaluable insight and expertise to each client scenario. She supports clients in their business planning and day-to-day decision-making. What Ali enjoys most is creating quality relationships with clients.
Ali is a past lecturer in the Commerce Program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program, and the School of Accountancy Tax Program administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario. In 2016, Ali was named a winner of the prestigious M&A Advisor Emerging Leaders Award (Top 40 Under 40). In 2015, Ali was the recipient of CPA Ontario and the Institute for Management & Innovation at the University of Toronto’s Alumni Award.
