ORIAN ISRAELSOHN

Orian Israelsohn graduated cum laude from the University of Ottawa’s law school, with a certificate in law and technology. While in law school, she was on the executive for JLSA and FTX Production and was a research assistant for Dr. Michael Geist. She interned twice at the Samuelson-Glushko Canadian Internet Policy and Public Interest Clinic (CIPPIC), once as a Technoship recipient.

She holds a master of fine arts from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts' Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program, and is a graduate of the Second City Sketch Comedy Writing Program and the University of Toronto in history and Jewish studies.

Orian is committed to protecting artists and is active in the arts and entertainment sectors. She has been a board member of Artists’ Legal Services Ottawa (ALSO) since 2023. This commitment stems from her background as an artist herself. Orian is a bookwriter and playwright. Her works include the full-length musical Tommy Christ co-written with Ayesu Lartey, the play Family Court which has been featured as part of 24/6’s Telephone Plays series, and the one-act musical Love in the Dark (lyrics by Emily Roller, music by Aleksandra Weil), performed at Dixon Place Theatre in New York City.
