UJA and Sinai Health Foundation are pleased to provide you with an opportunity to hear first-hand from leading healthcare professionals about their experience working on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic, and what novel research is being done to better understand the virus.

 

Opening remarks from Leonard Abramsky, UJA’s 2020 Annual Campaign Co-Chair and Brent Belzberg, C.M., Sinai Health Foundation, Chair of the Board.

Dr. Chaim Bell: Physician-in-Chief at Sinai Health

Dr. Bell is the Physician-in-Chief at Sinai Health, a general internist and Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bell completed his medical degree and specialty training at UofT before completing a Visiting Fellowship at Harvard and a PhD in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research at UofT. Dr. Bell's research focuses on patient safety and quality of patient care in hospitals, as well as the transition from hospitals to the community. The Department of Medicine that Dr. Bell oversees is on the front lines of treating COVID-19 patients. Click here for more info.

Dr. Anne-Claude Gingras, Senior Investigator at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Toronto, and one of our leading scientists who is doing research on COVID-19 related to detecting immunity to the virus.
