Born in Moshav Patish, Oz Davidian worked as a lawyer before joining the family farm near the city of Ofakim. On the morning of October 7th, Oz and his family were awoken by the sound of rockets overhead. He received a message asking if anyone in the area could help, so he secured his wife and daughters in their safe room and headed out in his truck.
After 15 trips—using his deep knowledge of the area’s backroads and fences—Oz saved 120 people that day. He was awarded the Medal for Civilian Bravery, was the subject of the documentary Oz’s List, and remains in regular contact with his “new extended family.”

A professional public speaker, musician, husband, and father, Tomer Regev’s life and work are deeply rooted in both family and community.
Tomer is the founder and manager of The Rockies, a Toronto-based band that performs Israeli rock covers and translations of classic English songs into Hebrew. This passion for connecting languages and cultures through music naturally extends to his work as a translator.
For tonight’s event, Tomer brings that same dedication to a singular and profoundly meaningful task: translating the testimony of Israeli hero, Oz Davidian. It is a role he approaches with humility and pride, knowing the importance of conveying not only the words, but also the spirit and courage of a man whose story represents both tragedy and resilience in the face of almost certain death.
For Tomer, this live translation is not just a professional duty—it is a privilege. To give voice in English to the bravery of an Israeli hero is to serve as a bridge between communities, honouring memory and truth, and inspiring the audience toward selfless action in the face of danger.
