Ali Spinner BA, MMPA, CPA, CA, TEP - Partner, Tax, Crowe Soberman LLP

Alexandra (Ali) Spinner is a partner in Crowe Soberman’s Tax Group and a member of the firm’s Management Committee. Ali is involved in all aspects of the firm’s domestic and international tax practices. She is also experienced in estate and trust planning, corporate reorganizations, and voluntary disclosure applications. Ali specializes in complex tax matters relating to business acquisitions and divestitures, estate freezes, post-mortem tax planning, tax due diligence, and corporate and estate tax returns.

With 19 years of experience in public accounting and tax, Ali provides invaluable insight and expertise to each client scenario. She supports clients in their business planning and day-to-day decision-making. What Ali enjoys most is creating quality relationships with clients.

Ali is a past lecturer in the Commerce Program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management, CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program, and the School of Accountancy Tax Program administered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario.

In 2016, Ali was named a winner of the prestigious M&A Advisor Emerging Leaders Award (Top 40 Under 40). In 2015, Ali was the recipient of CPA Ontario and the Institute for Management & Innovation at the University of Toronto’s Alumni Award.

Robbie Handelman CPA, CA, CFP, CIM, CLU - Vice President, Tax & Wealth, Fiera Investments

Robert Handelman is Vice President, Tax & Wealth at Fiera Investments. He assists advisors with the delivery of custom solution strategies for affluent investors and helps to deepen client relationships. He is a resource to help advisors and clients understand the numerous benefits and applications of the Fiera Class Funds.

Mr. Handelman was most recently at Edward Jones as the Director of Tax & Financial Planning. He also spent a number of years at Ernst & Young LPP as a Senior Tax Specialist providing holistic tax solutions to owner managers and their private businesses.

Mr. Handelman earned an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the Schulich School of Business and was on the Dean’s List. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), a Chartered Accountant (CA), a Chartered Investment Manager (CIM), a Certified Financial Planner (CFP), a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU), and has his CICA in-depth tax certification.

Outside of work, Mr. Handelman is involved in a number of philanthropic causes. He chairs the Israel Bonds Young Leadership Division and serves as a board member on the Jewish Foundation’s Professional Advisory Committee. In 2012, he was honoured by the UJA as one of the top 10 young professionals under 40 in recognition of his philanthropic and career achievements.
