SPEAKERS

Senator Joe Liberman, Former U.S. Senator for Connecticut

Joe Lieberman served four terms as the representative of Connecticut in the United States Senate. He retired in January 2012. Perhaps best known as the Democratic candidate for Vice President in 2000, Senator Lieberman established himself as a national leader — one who works across party lines to find common ground, a person who speaks his conscience and who gets things done for the good of all people in America. Senator Lieberman was Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which is responsible for oversight of the Department of Homeland Security and assuring the efficiency and effectiveness of the Federal Government. In addition, he was a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, where he was Chairman of the Subcommittee on Airland and sat on the Personnel and Seapower Subcommittees; and the Small Business Committee.

Meghan McCain, Best-selling Author and Political Commentator

Meghan McCain is a former co-host of ABC’s The View, which she joined in October of 2017. As the daughter of Senator John McCain, Meghan has been steeped in the high-stakes political arena since childhood. Often said to possess the McCain “maverick gene,” Meghan has no qualms saying what is on her mind and brags that she inherited “my dad’s heartburn-inducing ability to say what he thinks.” A powerful role model for women and Republicans alike, McCain passionately discusses women’s issues, social issues, and marriage equality. A New York Times best-selling author, McCain wrote and published her first book Dirty Sexy Politics: A True Story in 2010 followed by a children’s book, both of which were inspired by her time on the campaign trail during her father’s Presidential run.

Senator Frum successfully introduced Canadian Jewish Heritage Month Act (Bill S-232) which designates the month of May as an officially recognized month to honour the contributions of Canada’s Jewish community. Senator Frum is an active member of her community. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the United Jewish Appeal of Greater Toronto and serves on the board of the United Israel Appeal.
