In 2002, award-winning photographer Robert Burley documented some of Toronto’s oldest synagogues, each built before 1930 by Eastern European Jewish immigrants. The Ontario Jewish Archives is proud to present Instruments of Faith, featuring photographs of six synagogues still in use today and offering a compelling look at Toronto’s Jewish history.

We invite you to join us for the launch of the exhibition, on view at the Lipa Green Centre. The event will feature remarks from the OJA’s Chair David Matlow and photographer Robert Burley, as well as music from Eric Stein, Toronto musician and artistic director of Ashkenaz Festival.

Refreshments will be served. Kashrut observed.
