Hailed as an “exciting dramatic soprano” (Opera Canada) with “command over a powerful range of expressive emotion” (The Whole Note), Jaclyn Grossman’s recent highlights include Brünnhilde in Die Walküre and Freia in Das Rheingold with Edmonton Opera, Nedda in Pagliacci and Nella in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Kelowna, and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Buffalo Philharmonic under JoAnn Falletta. She returns to Edmonton Opera as Brünnhilde in Siegfried this season. As co-founder of the Likht Ensemble, Jaclyn has championed Jewish Holocaust music in performances at the Canadian Opera Company, Schulich School of Music, Harold Green Jewish Theatre, and with the Chattanooga Symphony. Upcoming Likht engagements include their Salle Bourgie debut and appearances in the Leah Posluns Chamber Series. Jaclyn is passionate about fostering community and connection and is deeply committed to supporting local groups and nonprofits. She is the founder of The Phoenix Leadership Project, the creator/facilitator of the Association for Opera in Canada’s RBC Artist Fellowship/Mentorship, and the programs manager for Opera 5’s Portfolio Artist Internship Program. A recipient of the Wagner Society of New York Bayreuth Stipendium, Opera America’s Career Blueprint Award, the Sylva Gelber Foundation Award, and the Ben Steinberg Musical Legacy Award, Jaclyn is a graduate of McGill University and the Rebanks Family Fellowship at the Royal Conservatory of Music.
