Volunteer fundraisers play such an integral part of UJA’s Annual Campaign, raising hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. We hope you can attend this special event in honour of your hard work and dedication to our Jewish community.

MEET OUR PERFORMERS

Louise Camilleri

Career highlights include most recently being nominated for a Dora Award for her role as Justice Charlier in More Entertainment’s Rock Of Ages. Among her favourite performances are featured dancer in the U.S. national tour of Sophisticated Ladies produced by Mercedes Ellington, Anita in West Side Story, the world premier production of The Lord of the Rings, the role of Tanya in Mamma Mia!, and the world premier production of Show Boat at the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway. Film and Television highlights include Superstar, Blues Brother’s 2000, and Disney’s Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure. Mark Camilleri

There are so many people in the world who have been quoted as saying "music is a part of life." However, everyone in the world who knows Mark Camilleri knows that for him, music is life.

Mark’s entire professional life embraces music. As a music director, pianist, composer, arranger, accompanist, engineer, producer, conductor, or recording studio owner, Mark has encountered nothing but great success. This success can be attributed not only to his talent, but also a work ethic devoted to always improving and providing the best. All of this is evidenced by the amazing opportunities and experiences that Mark has had (see below).

Outside of his career, Mark is surrounded by his loving family. His wife Louise, (a talented and accomplished vocalist, dancer and actor) and his two sons, Andrew and Adrian.

Gabi Epstein

Hailed "Canada's Queen of Cabaret" by CTV's eTalk Gabi has been performing professionally across North America for over 20 years. An audience favourite of the HGJT, she has performed in their productions of Funny Girl in Concert (as Fanny Brice), Kabaret, Stars of David, To Life (DORA nomination), and almost every single one of their fundraising Galas, but is best known across Canada for playing Audrey in the Stratford Festival's 2019 production of Little Shop of Horrors and Fanny Brice in the Segal Centre's 2015 production of Funny Girl. Most recently, she performed the role of The Baker’s Wife in Toronto’s star-studded production of Into the Woods at Koerner Hall. Gabi is perhaps most praised for her own cabarets having captured the hearts of audiences around the world with her signature storytelling concerts. Gabi's solo show and love letter to Barbra Streisand Gabs Sings Babs debuted in 2022 and has subsequently been performed all over Canada. Her latest studio album also called Gabs Sings Babs was produced by Mark Camilleri and features original reimagined arrangements of the songs featured in her solo show. Jake Epstein

Jake Epstein is a proud Canadian actor, singer and writer. He originated the role of Gerry Goffin on Broadway in the Tony-nominated hit Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, and survived a year as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. On tour, he has performed in most major theatres across the U.S., starring in the Tony-winning hit Spring Awakening (Melchior) as well as Green Day’s American Idiot (Will). Off-Broadway, he starred in the New York Times critics pick Straight. A graduate of The National Theatre School of Canada, selected regional credits include Billy Elliot: The Musical (Mirvish), Therefore Choose Life (Harold Green Jewish Theatre), Dog Sees God (Michael Rubinoff), two Ross Petty Pantos, the world premiere of Ken Ludwig’s Dear Jack, Dear Louise (Arena Stage in Washington D.C.) and his acclaimed solo show Boy Falls From The Sky (Mirvish, 6 Dora nominations including Outstanding Production, Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role and Outstanding New Musical). He has appeared in over 40 TV shows and films, but is best known for Degrassi (CTV, Gemini Award), Designated Survivor, Suits and The Umbrella Academy (All on Netflix).

Ian Sirota

Ian Sirota headlines comedy clubs across North America, and has shared the stage with Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Gaffigan, Dennis Miller, Robin Williams, Howie Mandel, and Dana Carvey. Ian was a regular cast member and writer for Comedy Inc., Comedy Now, Gutterball Alley, Mr. D, The Debaters, and many more. Ian has been nominated for two Gemini Awards, including “Best Comedy Performance.” He is the founder of the 905 Comedy Festival and has performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival, the Hubcap Comedy festival, and Alianait Festival in Iqaluit.

Ian is a comedy coach for CEOs and celebrities for the annual charity event Humour Me at the prestigious Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre. This event has raised more than $25 million in the last 10 years, and Ian coached the winner eight times.
