The Wheat Grows Again: UJA ShinShinim Yom Hazikaron Ceremony

Date

Thursday, May 9, 2024
5:00 PM

Where

The Leah Posluns Theatre, in the Charlotte & Lewis Steinberg Family Cultural Pavilion, in the Sheff Family Building on the Sherman Campus 4588 Bathurst Street, North York

You’re invited to join the UJA ShinShinim for Yom HaZikaron—the solemn day where we remember and honour those who have given their lives for the Jewish people, and remember victims of terror who have lost their lives because of hate.

This year, Yom HaZikaron takes on a whole new meaning. So many families were destroyed on October 7th, and all our lives have been changed forever. The theme of this year’s Yom HaziKaron ceremony is, “The Wheat Grows Again.” Together we will learn how to keep going; how our life continues even through some of our loved ones will not return. The wheat will regrow, even though the valley will never be the same.

Following the ceremony, the UJA ShinShinim will conduct a sing-a-long in Hebrew.
