Canadian Friends of Beit Issie Shapiro (CFOBIS) is a Canadian registered charity advancing opportunities and rights for people with disabilities.
CFOBIS carries out its charitable activities in Canada and internationally to advance inclusion and improve the lives of people with disabilities.
CFOBIS is affiliated with and works with Beit Issie Shapiro (BIS), a leading Israeli organization developing innovative approaches in education, therapy, assistive technology, advocacy and social change. BIS's work impacts more than 500,000 people with disabilities and their families annually, with partnerships extending to more than 30 countries.
The Opportunity
CFOBIS is expanding its volunteer Board of Directors and is looking for engaged individuals across Canada who want to make a meaningful contribution to advancing opportunities and inclusion for people with disabilities.
We are looking for Board members who can bring their time, experience, ideas, relationships and philanthropic engagement to help grow CFOBIS's presence and impact in Canada.
We particularly welcome individuals with strong community and philanthropic connections and/or professional expertise in:
• Fundraising and philanthropy
• Business, entrepreneurship and corporate partnerships
• Marketing and communications
• Finance, legal or governance
• Healthcare, disability and inclusion, education or technology
• Strategic development
Prior Board experience is an asset but is not required.
What You'll Contribute
This is an active, working Board. Board members are expected to participate actively in meetings and initiatives, contribute to the governance and strategic direction of CFOBIS, serve as ambassadors for our mission, make introductions to prospective donors, partners and supporters, and help expand our community and philanthropic impact.
Board members are also expected to demonstrate their personal commitment through a personally meaningful annual contribution to CFOBIS and by opening doors to relationships and opportunities that can generate new philanthropic giving to advance CFOBIS's charitable activities.
Most importantly, we are looking for people who believe in the mission and are ready to get involved.
