Student Support Specialist 

Salary Range: $45,000-$80,000

Location: Toronto, In-Person

Full-Time, One Year Contract

 

The Leo Baeck Day School is a Reform Jewish Day School and an authorized International Baccalaureate World School, a designation reflected in our innovative pedagogy. We work to create a child-centred environment where each student's learning style is nurtured and students learn to think critically and make positive choices.

We are currently seeking a Student Support Specialist (Social Worker, Guidance Counsellor, or Child & Youth Worker) who will work as part of a team under the supervision of the Principal and the Dean of Student Services. The successful candidate will provide individual and small-group emotional support to students, family guidance, facilitate dynamic workshops and classes on Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) concepts, and partner with teachers to implement our social-emotional curriculum across Grades K–8.

 

Applicants should have:

 

• Background in Social Work, Guidance Counselling, Child and Youth Care, or a related field (e.g., BSW/MSW, CYC/CYW diploma/degree, or Guidance & Counselling qualifications).
• Active registration or membership with the relevant Ontario professional body or association.
• Demonstrated experience providing individual support and leading small group interventions for K–8 children.
• Proven ability to design and deliver engaging classroom instruction and workshops on SEL concepts.

 

This is a one-year contract position: December 2026 - December 2027
