Job Type: Full time (40 hours per week)

Rate of Pay: $21.11 per hour including PWE and GOG

Location: Schwartz/Reisman Centre, 9600 Bathurst Street, Vaughan, ON

Reports To: Senior Director, JCC ECE Centres

At the Schwartz/Reisman Centre Childhood Education Centre, we believe childhood is where curiosity, confidence, and community begin. We are looking for a passionate, energetic, and caring Early Childhood Education Hebrew Teacher to join our team and help bring Hebrew language, Jewish culture, and meaningful learning experiences to life for our youngest learners.

As an ECE Hebrew Teacher, you will play an important role in shaping a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can grow cognitively, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. You will help foster a strong connection to Jewish identity while creating enriching Hebrew and Judaic experiences that inspire children and families alike.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Observe and document children’s interests and development to create engaging, age-appropriate programming.
  • Develop and lead Hebrew and Judaic programming, incorporating Jewish values, traditions, holidays, and Israel education into daily learning experiences.
  • Plan and implement creative activities that support children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Lead engaging group activities that encourage creativity, exploration, problem-solving, music, dramatic play, sensory experiences, and language development.
  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive classroom environment where every child feels valued and supported.
  • Foster children’s independence by supporting daily routines, self-help skills, and social development.
  • Support individualized learning needs and accommodations, including collaboration with external therapeutic supports where applicable.
  • Use positive behaviour guidance techniques that align with program philosophy and child development best practices.
  • Build Strong Relationships
  • Develop strong, respectful partnerships with parents and caregivers through daily communication and collaboration.
  • Promote a positive and welcoming experience for children and families within the ECE Centre and broader JCC community.
  • Collaborate with ECE leadership and fellow educators to ensure high-quality programming and exceptional care.
  • Help create meaningful Jewish experiences for children and families.
  • Participate in JCC and ECE community events including Purim, Chanukah, Yom Ha’atzmaut, and other community celebrations.

 

What You Bring

  • Fluency in Hebrew (required)
  • Passion for teaching, learning, and working with young children
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues
  • Understanding of child development and early years programming
  • Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCYEA), ELECT Framework, and How Does Learning Happen is considered an asset
  • A positive, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s growth and development
  • Ability to work collaboratively, adapt to changing classroom needs, and maintain a nurturing learning environment
