About the Role
JF&CS is seeking a compassionate and skilled Social Worker to support individuals and families within the Jewish community impacted by antisemitism, hate-based incidents, and traumatic invalidation. This role combines clinical counselling, crisis intervention, group facilitation, psychoeducation, and community outreach through a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens.
The successful candidate will provide direct clinical services while helping strengthen community resilience and access to supports.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide trauma-informed assessment, counselling, crisis intervention, safety planning, and case management services.
- Deliver individual and group-based therapeutic supports for individuals impacted by antisemitism and hate-based trauma.
- Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups focused on resilience, validation, and healing.
- Support clients with referrals, advocacy, and connection to community and legal resources.
- Participate in intake and clinical assessment services.
- Develop and deliver educational workshops and outreach initiatives related to antisemitism, trauma, and community wellbeing.
- Collaborate with community organizations, synagogues, and service providers to support coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with agency and professional standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent.
- Registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).
- Minimum 2–3 years of clinical experience in trauma-focused therapy, crisis intervention, and safety planning.
- Formal training in at least one evidence-based trauma modality (TF-CBT, CPT, PE, or EMDR).
- Strong understanding of antisemitism, hate-based trauma, Jewish identity, and intergenerational trauma.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and group facilitation skills.
- Commitment to anti-oppressive, equity-informed, and trauma-informed practice.
- Hebrew, Russian, French, or another community language is considered an asset.
