About the Role
We are seeking a Social Worker to join our Family Violence & Relationship Wellness team. In this role, you will provide trauma-informed, culturally-responsive counseling and support to individuals and families impacted by intimate partner violence (IPV), with a focus on youth and men within the family context. The work will center on survivor-led safety, relationship well-being, and accountability-oriented practices, supporting both those who have experienced violence and those who have used it. Preference may be given to candidates who identify as male; however, all qualified candidates will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide crisis intervention, safety planning, and individual, family and group counselling.
- Conduct assessments, coordinate case management and connect clients with community supports (housing, legal, health, immigration, etc.).
- Deliver accountability-focused interventions with male clients, including individuals who have used violence and those who are survivors.
- Provide counselling and advocacy for youth exposed and impacted by IPV.
- Respond to crisis and walk-in situations while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Develop and facilitate IPV education and outreach to diverse community groups.
- Build and maintain partnerships with service providers, schools, and faith-based organizations.
- Contribute to a safe and respectful environment for clients, staff, and volunteers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Will Bring:
- MSW or BSW (or equivalent) with registration with OCSWSSW in good standing
- Fluency of Russian, Hebrew and/or another language reflecting local community will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience, preferably in IPV, family violence, or trauma work
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, crisis response, and therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, MI, ACT, Family Therapy)
- Experience with trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and accountability-oriented approaches
- Knowledge of the Child, Youth & Family Services Act and relevant community resources
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Jewish culture, traditions, and diverse identities is an asset
