REGISTERED EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR (Maternity Leave)
Job Type: Immediate Start Full-time (35 hours per week) 12-18 Month Contract Including Benefits
Wage: $29.50 per hour plus PWE
Location: Prosserman JCC (4588 Bathurst Street, North York, ON, Bathurst and Sheppard Area)

The perfect candidate is a Registered ECE in good standing with the College, enthusiastic, has a love of working with children and a passion for teaching and demonstrated classroom experience. As well, the successful candidate displays a positive can-do attitude and the ability to build relationships with colleagues, parents, and children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe and document children's interests and plans lessons; accordingly, expand on the children's learning based on the observation/documentation of the learning experiences.
- In consultation with the Director of Education and other staff, lead planning of and implementation of age-appropriate programs to enhance the children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCYEA), the Early Learning for Every Child Today Framework and How Does Learning Happen and the Prosserman JCC Daycare & Preschool program philosophy (including Sheva).
- Use an emergent child-centered approach, incorporate learning experiences designed to meet the individual needs of the children and external therapeutic programs such as speech therapy, behavior management and physiotherapy etc. arranged by parents.
- Follow the Program Statement and provide a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment showing sensitivity to the individual needs of children in all aspects of development.
- Lead by example and are an excellent role model in the classroom for ECAs and children.
- Implement and follow all Ministry and AQI requirements and protocols.
- Infuse Jewish cultural and holiday programming into the classroom.
- Perform administrative functions when necessary.
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of Jewish life, traditions, culture, and Israel and/or willingness to learn.
- Hebrew proficiency an asset but not required.
