Recreational Support Workers- Part Time
Reena is actively recruiting passionate and dedicated Part-Time- Recreational Support Workers (RSW) for our Fall 2026 Community Outreach Programs. In this role, you will have the opportunity to support individuals with developmental disabilities and dual diagnosis with planning and facilitating fun, meaningful and creative social and recreational programming in the community.
This is an excellent opportunity for college and university students seeking part-time employment with potential for long-term growth within Reena.
Position Details:
Contract/Term: October 18th, 2026 – December 13th, 2026.
Location: Reena Battle Centre (Clark/Bathurst in Thornhill)
Salary: CA$18.50 / hour
Schedule:
- Monday - 5:00 - 9:00 PM
- Tuesday 4:30 -8:00 PM
- Wednesday 5:00 - 9:00 PM
- Thursday 5:00 - 9:00 PM
- Sunday 11:00 AM -5:30 PM

Responsibilities
· Assisting individuals with developmental disabilities in meeting their needs of daily living
· Plan and deliver social and recreational based activities
· Reinforce social and life skills
· Participate in mandatory meetings and trainings
Qualifications
Requirements
- Minimum age requirement: 18 years and older.
- Possession of a valid G license is an asset
- Comfortable with driving Reena's van for transportation purposes is an asset
Qualification
- Some experience (volunteer and/or paid) in child care, education, psychology, social services, child and youth worker and healthcare and related
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
- Flexible and adaptive to change
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Creativity, patience, and a passion for working with children and youth.

Reena was established in 1973 by parents of children with developmental disabilities as a practical alternative to institutions. In 1977, Reena began receiving funding from the Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services and since that time has grown to provide support for hundreds of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. Reena offers a variety of services including: employment, residential support, respite programs, counselling, therapy and advocacy.
