
Part-Time Payroll Clerk
Approximately two days per week | Toronto, Ontario
Beth Tzedec Congregation is seeking an experienced and highly discreet Payroll Clerk to manage payroll administration for Congregation and cemetery employees. This part-time role is well suited to a payroll professional who values accuracy, compliance, employee service and a predictable schedule tied to payroll deadlines.
What You Will Do
- Process regular and off-cycle payrolls and maintain accurate employee payroll records.
- Prepare Records of Employment and respond to employee payroll enquiries.
- Reconcile payroll reports and prepare payroll journal entries for Sage Intacct.
- Support EHT, WSIB, benefit, union and other payroll-related filings and remittances.
- Administer payroll-related Manulife plan changes and reporting.
- Support year-end adjustments and T4, T4A and T4A-NR reporting, as applicable.
- Work with Ceridian support and help improve the effective use of Powerpay.
- Familiarity with payroll source deductions and remittances.
- Maintain payroll practices consistent with Employment Standards Act requirements and applicable collective agreements.
- Administer pension deductions, reporting and employee enrolment changes as applicable.
What You Bring
- At least two years of hands-on Canadian payroll processing experience.
- Working knowledge of Ontario employment standards and Canadian statutory payroll requirements.
- PCP designation preferred; candidates working toward PCP or bringing equivalent payroll education and experience will be considered.
- Experience with Ceridian Powerpay is a strong asset.
- Excellent reconciliation, Excel, problem-solving and communication skills.
- A high level of confidentiality, accuracy and reliability.
