Position: Marketing & Communications Specialist Department: Marketing and Communications Reports to: Manager, Marketing & Communications
Location: Technion Canada is based in Toronto and operates in a hybrid model, in which sta= are required to work at the o=ice a minimum of two days each week, with occasional travel within Ontario and across Canada as required.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000. Based on experience and additional skills.

Position Summary
The Marketing and Communications Specialist plays an integral role in bringing Technion Canada's mission to life through compelling communications and exceptional execution. Reporting to the Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Specialist develops and delivers marketing content, maintains digital channels, supports fundraising campaigns, coordinates events, and helps ensure every touchpoint reflects the organization's brand and values.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, creative marketing professional who enjoys writing, digital communications, project coordination, and collaborating across teams to help advance a mission-driven organization. Working alongside the Manager, Marketing and
Communications, the Specialist contributes to meaningful donor engagement and helps showcase the world-changing impact of Technion's research, innovation, and education.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
- Draft marketing content for review by the Manager, Marketing and Communications, including newsletters, website copy, social media, donor communications, event promotions, and fundraising materials to align with wider marketing strategy, annual campaign calendar, and fiscal priorities.
- Repurpose long-form content into digital and social media formats.
- Maintain brand voice and style guidelines across all materials.
- Publish and schedule approved content across marketing channels to align with wider marketing strategy, annual campaign calendar, and fiscal priorities.
Website Management
- Own the website content updates, including the posting of news stories, sta= biographies, donor information, research updates, event pages, and fundraising campaigns
- Build the first draft of landing pages and online forms to be reviewed and approved by the Manager, Marketing and Communications
- Maintain SEO/GEO best practices established by the Manager, Marketing and Communications
- Identify outdated content requiring updates.
- Ensure functional link tracking on the website to assist with data informed decision making.
Social Media
- Manage day-to-day social media publishing across LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram.
- Develop graphics, videos, and supporting visual content.
- Schedule content and monitor engagement.
- Maintain the social media content calendar.
- Report engagement trends and opportunities.
Digital and Direct Marketing
- Draft and build email campaigns in Constant Contact.
- Create supporting graphics and links.
- Test and schedule campaigns.
- Maintain subscriber lists and implement segmentation established by the
- Manager, Marketing and Communications.
- Draft copy for direct mail appeals (1-2 mailings per year).
Fundraising & Donor Materials
- Prepare donor proposals, presentations, reports, and stewardship materials in partnership with various stakeholders and the Manager, Marketing and Communications
- Develop event collateral, direct mail pieces, holiday cards, signage, and promotional materials.
- Source and organize photography and creative assets.
Events
- Coordinate marketing deliverables for fundraising and organizational events in partnership with various stakeholders and the Manager, Marketing and Communications
- Build event registration pages and promotional materials.
- Coordinate timelines with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Marketing Operations
- Maintain project timelines and workback schedules.
- Organize shared marketing assets and templates.
- Assist with workflow documentation and process improvements.
- Coordinate production with print vendors and suppliers.
- Perform other marketing-related duties as required.
Reporting & Database Support
- Collect marketing performance data from digital platforms.
- Maintain reporting trackers and campaign records.
- Support CRM list management, segmentation, tagging, and campaign coding.
- Flag trends, issues, or opportunities to the Manager, Marketing and Communications.
Digital Innovation
- Assist with implementation of new marketing technologies and digital tools.
- Test new platform features.
- Identify opportunities to improve marketing processes and digital e=ectiveness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
- 1–3 years of marketing or communications experience.
- Strong writing and editing skills.
- Success with social media management, email marketing platforms, and website content management systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft O=ice, Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Experience with CRM systems and analytics platforms is considered an asset.
- Selected candidates will be asked to complete a short project to assess their marketing-related skills.
