Chai Lifeline Canada is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Human Resources Associate to join our team. The HR Associate supports the day-to-day operations of the HR department and plays a key role in delivering a positive employee experience. This position assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, payroll support, HR compliance initiatives, and other HR-related projects and programs. The HR Associate serves as a first point of contact for employee inquiries and helps ensure HR processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with company policies.
Please note that this is a permanent part-time position, with the following work hours:
- Monday, 9am-5pm
- Wednesday, 9am-5pm
- Friday, 9am-2pm
Responsibilities will include:
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Post job openings and coordinate recruitment activities
- Screen resumes and schedule interviews
- Conduct reference checks
- Prepare offer letters and employment documentation
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation
- Ensure completion of new hire paperwork
Employee Records & HR Administration
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee files
- Update HRIS systems with employee data changes
- Track probationary periods, performance review timelines, and contract renewals
- Prepare employment verification letters and other HR documentation
Payroll & Benefits Support
- Assist with payroll data collection and submission
- Support benefits enrollment and respond to employee benefit inquiries
- Liaise with benefit providers as needed
Employee Relations
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions regarding policies and procedures
- Support employee engagement initiatives and HR programs
- Assist with performance management processes
- Help coordinate training and development activities
Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensure compliance with employment standards and workplace regulations
- Support policy updates and distribution
- Assist with health and safety documentation and reporting
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 1+ years of HR or administrative experience preferred
- Knowledge of employment legislation
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems considered an asset
- CHRP designation (or working toward) considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

- Excellent organization, multitasking, and attention to detail
- Highly motivated with the ability to work in a collaborative team or independently.

Salary range: $45,000 - $55,000 per year . This salary will be prorated to reflect 3 days per week.
