WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

DANI is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable individual to fill the position of Day Supports Facilitator. The successful candidate will join the innovative and dynamic staff team of ACE (Abilities, Community, Empowerment), our weekday day program, where person-centred planning guides each individual's growth, learning, and community engagement.

You are someone who:

  • Is passionate about empowering adults with developmental disabilities to build skills, confidence, and independence.

  • Has experience planning and facilitating engaging, person-centred programming.
  • Builds positive, respectful relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Is observant, patient, and creative, and adapts activities to a wide range of abilities and interests.
  • Is detail oriented and professional in all communication and documentation.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend and contribute to daily morning and afternoon team meetings.
  • Observe and assess the needs of individuals in the program and communicate observations to the team.
  • Develop and implement programs for groups of 4 to 16 individuals, guided by their goals and interests.
  • Support colleagues who are leading programs to ensure individuals are involved and engaged.
  • Supervise individuals during community outings in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Carry a caseload of 3 to 5 individuals, which includes communicating with families, supporting each person in developing and working toward their personalized Goal Action Plan, coordinating with staff to ensure appropriate program placement, reviewing progress with families, and preparing reports.
  • Support individuals in achieving their goals during vocational placements.
  • Advocate for the people we serve within the program, in the community, and with their families.
  • Coach individuals to complete daily living activities independently.
  • Complete all administrative work, including reports, phone calls, and emails, in a timely and professional manner.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related college or university diploma or degree.
  • Experience in program development and implementation focused on the needs of the people served.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in a related field.
  • Proven record of working effectively as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening police check.
  • Knowledge of Jewish practices and traditions is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario Driver’s License is an asset.

 

POSITION DETAILS

JOB TYPE: Full-time

SALARY RANGE: $41,000 to $44,000 annually, with opportunities for extended health care benefits

BENEFITS: Company events, dental care, extended health care, life insurance, on-site parking, vision care

EDUCATION: DCS / DEC (required)

WORK LOCATION: In person

EXPECTED START DATE: August 31st, 2026
