Clinical Director

JACS (Jewish Addiction Community Services) Toronto is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Director to lead our growing clinical team and oversee the delivery, development, and ongoing improvement of JACS’ addiction and mental health services. This role provides clinical leadership across the organization, with responsibility for supervising and developing clinicians, ensuring high standards of clinical practice, supporting program development, and strengthening the overall clinical structure.

 

The successful candidate will bring strong clinical leadership skills, a collaborative approach to team building, and a commitment to providing high-quality, trauma-informed, client-centred care. The Clinical Director reports to the President & CEO and works closely with the Director of Operations, Assistant Clinical Director, and broader JACS leadership team.

 

Please note this role is in-office Monday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and remote Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility is required to work evenings to attend events, and support organizational needs.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide overall clinical leadership and oversight of JACS’ clinical services, ensuring high-quality, ethical, trauma-informed, and client-centred care
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the clinical team, fostering a strong, collaborative, accountable, and high-performing team
  • Work closely with the Assistant Clinical Director to delegate appropriate responsibilities and support effective clinical operations and team workflow
  • Collaborate with the President & CEO and Director of Operations on the recruitment and hiring of clinicians, identifying gaps and building a strong team of skilled professionals and emerging leaders
  • Oversee the development and growth of JACS’ clinical programs and services, including addiction, trauma, and mental health services
  • Provide clinical oversight of intake and assessment processes and work collaboratively with the Clinical Executive Assistant on intake-related coordination
  • Assist with Accreditation and quality improvement initiatives, working closely with the Assistant Clinical Director and Director of Operations to maintain standards, ensure ongoing readiness, and support future Accreditation reviews
  • Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, best practices, and professional development opportunities in alignment with applicable standards and legislation
  • Work with the Director of Operations to develop and promote professional development webinars, and other clinical initiatives, and collaborate with the Director of Marketing & Design on related materials
  • Support clinical outreach and community partnerships, including relationships with treatment centres, referral partners, and community organizations 
  • Participate in organizational leadership, fundraising events, Board activities, and other initiatives as required
  • Participate in the clinical intake, assessment, and client suitability process related to Honey’s House, JACS Retreats, etc. with the President & CEO, including supporting the development and oversight of clinical expectations, guidelines, and responsibilities associated with JACS’ involvement with the program

 

Qualifications

 

We are looking for a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in addiction and mental health counselling. The ideal candidate will bring:

 

  • Master’s degree or higher, in Social Work, Counselling Psychology or a related mental health discipline
  • Current registration in good standing with the applicable professional regulatory body/college
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive clinical experience, including leadership and supervisory responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience leading, supervising, and developing clinical teams
  • Proven ability to build strong, collaborative teams and develop clinical leaders
  • Strong knowledge of addiction, substance use, process addictions, trauma-informed care, and mental health treatment
  • Experience developing and improving clinical programs, policies, and practices
  • Experience and/or familiarity with Accreditation, quality improvement, and clinical compliance is an asset
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the Jewish community and its resources is an asset; familiarity with the Orthodox Jewish community is an asset

This position offers a competitive salary of $120,000–$160,000, commensurate with education and experience.
