Beth Torah Congregation (BTC) serves the spiritual, communal, and educational needs of more than 400 families with warmth and vibrancy in a family-style atmosphere. A Conservative shul for over 65 years, we have been at the nexus of tradition and modernity. We offer the wisdom of the ages gleaned from the Torah while speaking to the concerns of our congregants with relevance and meaning.

 

The Ba’al Koreh (Torah Reader) reports to the Clergy. The responsibilities include the following:

• Accurate leyning of Torah using correct ta'amim for weekly Shabbat Services. Current practice is generally a triennial reading.
• Accurate leyning of Torah using correct ta'amim for Yamim Noraim and holidays.
• Accurate leyning of Megillah for Purim

 

Additional Information

This is a part-time, in-person, permanent position, commencing July 1, 2026, with the potential to start sooner.

Salary range is $27,000-$34,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
