Role Summary
We are seeking an individual who is passionate about camp and is excited to help create meaningful and engaging experiences for campers. The Activities and Operations Coordinator plays an essential role in supporting the planning, organization, and execution of daily camp programs and activities. Working closely with the Program Coordinator, they help ensure that all aspects of camp programming run smoothly, efficiently, and with energy and excitement.
This position ensures that camp operations are well-coordinated, and staff are supported in delivering meaningful experiences for all campers. Working collaboratively with camp leadership, specialists, and counsellors, the Activities and Operations Coordinator brings creativity, enthusiasm, and strong organizational skills to every aspect of camp life. They are responsible for ensuring camp equipment is readily available and functional, and that day-to-day operations flow seamlessly.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Planning and Execution
- Support the Program Coordinator in planning and organize daily camp programs and activities aligned with Centre Camp’s mission and values.
- Coordinate logistics to ensure smooth daily operations across all program areas.
- Assist in planning and facilitating special events, theme days, and camp-wide activities.
- Operations & Logistics
- Manage inventory and ensure all equipment, materials, and spaces are prepared, maintained, and in good condition each day.
- Anticipate and address logistical challenges with flexibility and problem-solving.
- Facilitate and execute daily setup and takedown of program equipment
- Staff Leadership
- Supervise and support program specialists and activity leaders to ensure quality program delivery.
- Communicate regularly with the Program Coordinator, leadership team, and staff to maintain an organized, positive environment.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork, creativity, and enthusiasm among program staff.
Key Requirements
- Experience programming or leading activities for children in a camp setting.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to motivate, support, and collaborate with a diverse staff team.
- Physically able to lift, move, and set up camp equipment and materials as needed for daily programs and events.
- Proficiency with computers and common software programs (e.g., Excel), with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programs
