
Accounts Payable Clerk
Full-time | Toronto, Ontario
Beth Tzedec Congregation is seeking a detail-oriented and service-focused Accounts Payable Clerk to join its Finance Department. This is an opportunity for an experienced accounts payable professional to take ownership of a busy, varied portfolio supporting both Congregation and cemetery operations.
What You Will Do
- Process a high volume of vendor invoices from receipt through approval and payment.
- Maintain vendor records and resolve invoices, coding and payment discrepancies.
- Prepare EFT payment files, cheques, pre-authorized payment entries and employee reimbursements.
- Record online purchases and ensure complete supporting documentation and approvals.
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations, allocations and journal entries.
- Support timely month-end processing, reporting and audit preparation.
- Work collaboratively with staff, approvers and vendors while maintaining strong internal controls.
- Verify HST treatment on invoices and support HST tracking and reporting.
- Support the director of finance and other finance staff as needed
What You Bring
- At least two years of accounts payable, bookkeeping or accounting clerk experience.
- Experience handling a high volume of transactions and competing deadlines.
- Strong Excel skills and a solid understanding of account coding and reconciliations.
- Accuracy, organization, sound judgement and a professional service orientation.
- Experience with Sage Intacct is an asset but not required.
- Post-secondary accounting or bookkeeping education is preferred.
