ASSOCIATED HEBREW SCHOOLS ACCELERATED CREDIT PATHWAY TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES

 

Associated Hebrew Schools (AHS) is seeking dynamic, passionate, and innovative educators to teach within our new Accelerated Credit Pathway program launching for the 2026-2027 school year.

 

These hybrid secondary school credit courses are designed for motivated students seeking enriched academic opportunities through a flexible model combining weekly evening instruction with monthly Sunday learning intensives.

 

We are currently seeking educators for the following positions who:

  • Bring passion and innovation to their subject area

 

GRADE 9 BUSINESS TEACHER

BEM10 - Building the Entrepreneurial Mindset, Course length - 110 hours

 

This newly revised Ontario curriculum course helps students develop entrepreneurial thinking, financial literacy, creativity, communication skills, and project management abilities.

 

Students will:

  • Develop an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Explore innovation and problem solving
  • Build communication and leadership skills
  • Learn foundational business and financial concepts
  • Present and develop entrepreneurial ideas

 

The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and practical real-world relevance to the classroom while inspiring confidence and curiosity in young learners.

 

GRADE 10 BUSINESS TEACHER

BEP20 - Launching and Leading a Business, Course length - 110 hours

 

This newly revised Ontario curriculum course introduces students to leadership, entrepreneurship, and the core functions of business in today’s economy.

 

Students will:

  • Explore business leadership and entrepreneurship
  • Develop project management skills
  • Understand marketing, finance, operations, and human resources
  • Analyze ethical and responsible business practices
  • Examine real-world business opportunities and challenges

 

The ideal candidate will be able to create engaging, practical, and student-centered learning experiences connected to today’s rapidly evolving business world.

 

GRADE 11 MATHEMATICS TEACHER

MCR3U - Functions, Course length - 110 hours

 

This course prepared students for advanced mathematics pathways through the study of functions, algebraic reasoning, trigonometry, and mathematical modelling.

 

Students will:

  • Analyze and model functions
  • Explore polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric relationships
  • Strengthen algebraic reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Prepare for senior mathematics courses including Advanced Functions and Calculus

 

The ideal candidate will be able to balance academic rigor with strong student support while making complex mathematical concepts accessible and engaging.

 

Qualifications:

  • Preferred candidates will possess:
    • Ontario teaching certification or equivalent experience
    • Experience teaching secondary school students
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Comfort with hybrid and digital learning environments
    • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families

 

Job Type: Contract
Location: Danilack Middle School, 252 Finch Ave. W., North York, ON (on-site)
Work Hours: Tuesdays 5:00pm - 7:00pm, one Sunday intensive session per month
Salary: $5,000 per course

Candidates should be qualified in the particular area of the position they apply for. Classroom experience and OCT in good standing are essential.
