Jews have always argued. Now we’ll take on the most important arguments of all. From the battles between Hellenists and Maccabees to the controversies around Zionism, denominationalism, heresy, and Jewish identity, our tradition is built on passionate disagreement.

In this new six-week series, The Mensch Debates, we dive into the arguments that split communities, shaped the Jewish future, and still spark headlines today.

Is Judaism still Jewish if it changes?
Who gets to decide who counts as a Jew?
Are some ideas too dangerous to tolerate—or do we actually need heretics?
Do the Jewish people need a state, and what kind of state should it be?

Come ready for big questions, respectful conversations, and a journey through the most urgent Jewish debates—ancient and modern.
