THURSDAY APRIL 4 at 7:30pm | "Before the Beginning and After the End" - a conversation with the author, Dr. Hymie Anisman
How do survivors of genocide come to terms with the horrors they witnessed and experienced?
Most of the author’s family did not survive the Shoah, however, Hymie’s parents did, and emigrated to Canada, settling in Montreal, in 1950. Hymie Anisman was two years old at the time.
He will share his thoughts on the life trajectory of several survivors weaving into the discussion, his research in Behavioural Neuroscience; the impact of factors that allow individuals to reclaim their identities and begin anew.
Dr. Anisman is a faculty member of the Department of Neuroscience at Carleton University.
