After earning rave reviews for her sold-out 2014 concert at Carnegie Hall, internationally acclaimed singer Tamara Gverdtsiteli – named “The Russian Édith Piaf” by the New York Times – makes her triumphant Toronto debut with a brand new program.

Show One Productions (www.showoneproductions.ca) presents Tamara Gverdtsiteli in a concert titled Mamele. The Mother's Eyes, Friday, June 3, 8 p.m. at Roy Thomson Hall, 60 Simcoe Street. Tickets, $55-$150, are available from the Roy Thomson Hall box office, www.roythomson.com, or 416-872-4255.

Backed by the soloists of the Moscow Male Jewish Cappella and full symphony orchestra conducted by Maestro Alexander Tsaliuk, Gverdtsiteli is set to captivate her many fans and new audiences alike with the passion of her singing.

The first half of the concert features Jewish favorites and the revival of Yiddish songs only recently rediscovered in the former Soviet Union. In the second half, Gverdtsiteli sings beloved repertoire in Georgian, Russian, French and Italian, and her own best-known hits.
